
RISTON PARISH COUNCIL
Introduction:
Riston Parish Council was elected on 4th May 2023, with a voter turnout of 51%—an exceptionally strong result for a Parish Council election.
Since May 2024, Councillor Rebecca Wilson has served as Chair of the Council. In May 2025, she was re-elected to continue in this role.
The previous Vice Chair, Councillor Daniel France, stepped down in 2025 and was succeeded by Councillor Mazen Khuri.
The council meets the first Wednesday of every other month at 7:30pm at Riston Village Hall.
Committees and Working Groups
Riston Parish Council operates several committees and working groups to focus on key areas of community life and council operations. These groups include both councillors and, where appropriate, members of the community, working together to improve our parish.
Personnel Committee
Purpose:
Responsible for staffing matters, including recruitment, and staff welfare.

Held as needed, Members of the press and public are welcome to attend these meeting. However, please note that
under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, the press and public will be excluded from the meeting during discussion of confidential matters
StreetScene Working Group
Purpose:
Focuses on the maintenance, appearance, and infrastructure of the parish, including roads, footpaths, green spaces, and signage.

StreetScene Volunteer Group
Launched: July 2025
Purpose: A new volunteer-led group supporting the StreetScene Working Group in hands-on tasks such as litter picking, minor repairs, planting, and general village upkeep.

Events Working Group
Purpose:
Plans and coordinates community events, celebrations, and seasonal activities to foster local engagement and parish spirit.

The Parish Council owns and runs the
www.ristonparish.org website.
The next election will be May 2028 and the number of councillors will be reduced from 9 to 7.
